#Africa, with 1.4 billion people and some of the world’s fastest-growing economies, needs a media model tailored to its unique goals — one that promotes competent leadership, encourages citizen participation, and holds those in power accountable.

In my latest article for South Africa’s #Mail&Guardian, I argue that the rise of digital media presents an opportunity for African journalism to break free from Western conventions and forge its own path.

By harnessing technology, generating local content, and fostering collaboration, #African media can overcome challenges and drive positive change.
